Learning and Life Skills offers relationship based developmental support for neurodivergent children and their families. Our work begins with curiosity, play, and trust, and grows into connection, confidence, and inclusion.
Every Child Deserves to Be Understood
Each child’s way of learning, connecting, and expressing themselves is unique. At Learning and Life Skills, that individuality is celebrated. Families come here because they want thoughtful, evidence-informed support that also feels deeply human.
With more than fifteen years of experience in special education and developmental practice, I help children feel safe enough to grow and confident enough to connect. Through play, sensory exploration, movement, and gentle structure, the goal is always the same: to help your child feel capable, curious, and understood.
Our Philosophy
Children thrive when the adults around them respond to who they are, not who the world expects them to be. Drawing from the DIR Floortime model, attachment principles, and trauma-informed care, each session builds connection, trust, and self-awareness.
Instead of asking what a child should be doing, we ask what their actions are communicating. Behavior is information. What looks like defiance or distraction may be a signal of overwhelm or curiosity that needs a safer outlet. When we listen first, growth follows.
Who We Support
Our work centers children who are verbal and ready for one-on-one, relationship-based play. We welcome autistic and ADHD learners, twice-exceptional children, and those who are sensitive, spirited, strong-willed, or feel the world intensely.
We also support families navigating transitions, social connection challenges, or emotional regulation needs. Sessions are neuroaffirming, strengths-based, and paced to respect your child’s autonomy.
